ARTSPIRE LA CROSSE 2019
Mission: The mission of Artspire La Crosse is to attract, engage and connect people through celebration of the region’s diverse arts and culture, while promoting the La Crosse area as an arts destination.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Artspire La Crosse is an all-inclusive and free event that attracts, engages, and connects our diverse community through the experience of art. Art of all forms will be present: visual, performance, music, dance, literary, storytelling, and more. This 6th annual Artspire is set to take place in and outside of the Pump House Regional Arts Center, and into downtown La Crosse, June 7 & 8, 2019.
PARTICIPANT INFORMATION
Partner with Artspire and host your own arts-related event. Past participants chose to host a kid’s coloring contest, feature a local artist’s work in their business, run a special Artspire-themed food or drink special, and many other ideas. If you are utilizing the sidewalks outside your location a 5 ft. walkway must be available for pedestrians at all times. We ask that you create activities outside or inside your locations that would be a good compliment to the artistic theme of the event. If you are serving food and beverages or conducting business on the sidewalks outside your business you are responsible for the removal of all refuse from your area.
“Artspire Intermission:” Saturday, June 8, 5-7 pm – In between Artspire activities held in and around the Pump House, attendees will be encouraged to spend time in the larger downtown area. Downtown Participants could plan a special offering or event during this time if you choose.
Live Music or Performing Arts: If you would like to host a live artist or musician in your venue, please consider the following times: Friday, June 7, after 10 PM, Saturday, June 8, 5-8 PM, and after 10 PM. Artspire programming will be on hold during these times, and attendees will be in search of more live arts events throughout downtown.
Downtown Connections Contest: Artspire attendees will be urged to visit participating downtown businesses, look for the #Artspire2019 poster, take a ‘selfie’ with the poster in the background, and upload it to social media using the hashtag, #Artspire2019. Each photo upload equals one entry into our Downtown Connections Contest. One winner will be drawn at Artspire, Saturday, June 8 between 8 and 10 pm. Winner must be present to win.
BUSINESS BENEFITS
Downtown Participants will be listed and shown on the map in the Artspire Program and on the Artspire website with an activity description. Participants will also be promoted in Artspire social media posts.
APPLICATION DEADLINE
Deadline for inclusion in Artspire Program: February 15, 2019
Participation Fee: $25, includes business listing in event program, and on event map, on website, and social media. Participant and #Artspire2019 posters will be distributed prior to the event.
