Ladies, do you remember buying your first bra? Has a dog ever mistaken your favorite shoes for an entrée? ‘Love, Loss, and What I Wore’ brings the delight and terror of such experiences to the Pump House stage. Love, Loss and What I Wore is an intimate collection of stories about women, relationships, and clothes. Written by Nora and Delia Ephron, who brought us hits such as “Julie and Julia” and “You’ve Got Mail,” this event is the perfect ladies night out, complete with cocktails and a history of fashion.

Call for Writers – Love, Loss, and What I Wore Essay Contest

Write the Story of Your Clothes
La Crosse, March 2020
Perfect for a ladies night out, “Love, Loss, and What I Wore”, by Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron,
tells stories that will delight and astonish you with a collection of monologues about women,
relationships, and how clothes become significant in some of life’s special moments.
These sincere stories contain moments that all of our hearts warmly resonate with. We invite
you to write an essay sharing your own memory of love, loss, and most importantly, what was
worn. Entries will be judged based on creativity, quality of writing, and stage adaptability. The
winning contestant’s essay will be read on stage by a cast member before the 2 pm matinee
performance of “Love, Loss, and What I Wore,” on Sunday, March 29. The winner will receive
two free tickets to the March 29 show.
Submissions are due March 12, 2020. Winners will be announced March 17. Email essays to
