Finding Hope Through the Arts

The Pump House Regional Arts Center is excited to be collaborating with area arts and cultural nonprofits to bring you joy during our at home quarantine time.

“La Crosse Arts Online” is a strategic collaboration of La Crosse arts organizations bringing a wide variety of quality online art and cultural experiences during a time of quarantine and separation. By partnering in this endeavor, we are excited to offer more for our patrons and bring a needed sense of connectivity which is encouraging and nurturing in this time of social distancing.

Five core organizations, La Crosse Symphony Orchestra, Pump House Regional Arts Center, La Crosse Community Theatre, Weber Center for the Performing Arts, and La Crosse Chamber Chorale came together to create something beautiful for our audiences. We then invited other arts and cultural nonprofits to expand the experience and help us be stronger together during this difficult time.

Each week, each organization will offer online content for your viewing pleasure. While you’re not able to come to us, we’ll come to your home via online content. Here’s what each organization is offering and where you can find it.

The Pump House offerings will mix it up for you! As a multi-disciplinary arts organization, the Pump House will bring you new experiences in visual, performing, film, and literary arts. Go behind the scenes with our featured artists, hear a very special story performance, get the inside scoop on productions, and more. Look for new online adventures from the Pump House each Thursday as part of La Crosse Arts Online. Connect with us on Facebook or Instagram:

VITERBO UNIVERSITY FINE ARTS CENTER…
The Viterbo Fine Arts Center will be sharing “Isolation Inspiration” on our social media channels. There are few things we love more than coming together for the creative inspiration the arts can provide, but the necessity of social distancing has led us to consider how we can still find and practice creativity in these uncertain times. We’ll be connecting with staff, faculty, alumni, and students of the Fine Arts Center to see how they are continuing to seek out artistic inspiration and fulfillment in the midst of isolation. Look for posts using #isolationinspiration, and share with us your own pursuits of creativity and inspiration. Follow @viterbofac on Facebook (www.facebook.com/ViterboFAC/) and Instagram (www.instagram.com/viterbofac/) to view these posts and interact with us.

Some of which we have performed in our history, and some of which we are planning to perform in the near future. We have chosen to release these recordings on Mondays as this is the same evening we usually rehearse, should these incredible masterworks inspire you to join us next year! Please “like” the UWL Choral Union on Facebook so you can enjoy some recordings of the most grandiose music in the classical catalog! https://www.facebook.com/UWL-Choral-Union-974210099304507
THE LA CROSSE CHAMBER CHORALE
In addition to our regular social media postings, we’ll be adding a feature every Thursday sharing some of our favorite choral pieces, Chamber Chorale memories, and personal experiences of how choral music has changed our lives. The first of these short videos will be Thursday, April 16th, from our Artistic Director, Christopher Hathaway, sharing two of his personal favorite choral works! We hope you will join us as we continue to unify the world through great choral music, even if it has to be only virtually for now.
