Lapiztola is an Oaxaca, Mexico based collective of urban graphic artists whose work emerged from the social and political upheaval in Oaxaca in 2006. Using stencil, screen printing, and bold graphic imagery, they transform art into a tool for communication and resistance, addressing issues including migration, violence, Indigenous identity, labor, and the forces shaping public life. Their work invites us to consider whose stories are heard, remembered, and represented in public space.
