IMPORTANT UPDATE – King Street Reconstruction Project 2026
The City of La Crosse will be reconstructing King Street from Front Street to 3rd Street over the next few months. This construction will update utilities, update curbs & sidewalks and repave the street. This project begins April 6 and is estimated to end in mid September of 2026. Please understand that the construction timelines may adjust and be unpredictable due to weather, soil conditions and other factors.
This construction will eliminate street parking on King Street and limit/deny access to the surface parking lot west of the Pump House. Good thing we are surrounded by parking and Patrons can utilize these parking spaces:
- Parking Ramp North of Pump House – 407 Front St S, La Crosse, WI: Entrance & Exit on Front Street, free parking – There are 12 spaces reserved for Pump House patrons on the main floor, straight in, all the way in the back. These spots are reserved for staff and visitors, but we respectfully ask that you do not use these spots unless you are visiting the Pump House. Otherwise upper levels may be used.
- Riverside Municipal Parking Ramp East of and directly next to Pump House – 198 Jay St, La Crosse, WI: Entrance on Jay Street, Exit on King Street (current status routes exit on King St. to the right only, to Front St.) Pay to Park – Park, register licesnce plate, pay on ParkMobile App or at kiosk (Zone #29112)
- $1/hr Mon-Sat, 6am-10pm
- Free Nights (Mon-Sat 10pm-6am) & Sundays
- La Crosse Center Ramp – 201 Jay St, La Crosse, WI: 1 block away from Pump House. Pay to Park – Park, register licesnce plate, pay on ParkMobile App or at kiosk (Zone #29103)
- $1/hr Mon-Sat, 6am-10pm
- Free Nights (Mon-Sat 10pm-6am) & Sundays
Refer to the Map graphic to help navigate.
The intersections of 2nd and King and 3rd and King going North or South are open for regular traffic. Traffic going East and West between Front and 3rd are barricaded. Please follow the detour signs posted or use alternate routes.
As the entrance to our building is on King Street, as well as the surface parking lot and street parking, we will keep everyone updated with a status and tips on where to go to park as construction goes on.
We apologize for the inconvenience and we understand your possible frustrations with navigating our block but appreciate your patience and understanding. Please do not let this construction stray you away from visiting the Pump House or our neighboring locally owned businesses.
