Juliet Maya is a Colombian-born artist based in La Crosse, WI. Her work examines the transformation of emotions, the complexities of interpersonal relationships, and the ties between humans and the natural world. Much of her art reflects on motherhood, exploring its social burdens across generations and in global contexts.

MARK MY WORDS
Kader Gallery
Mark My Words brings together visual artists and writers in a collaborative exploration of creativity across mediums. Each artwork is paired with an original poem or prose piece, creating a dialogue where image and language reflect, challenge, and expand upon one another. This exhibition highlights the power of collaboration, offering audiences layered interpretations and deeper connections through the union of visual form and written word.

50th Anniversary Celebration

It is the 50th anniversary of Eastbank Artists, Inc. Founding members helped convert a historic La Crosse City Water Works building into the Pump House Regional Arts Center. To celebrate, local artists who have ever been a member of the Eastbank Artists group will be showing pieces showcasing their 50 years of artwork from 1976 – 2026.

The art Julia Kemerer creates today began with a fleeting moment in 2023, when a large round mirror frame in her living room suddenly resembled the opening to a birdhouse. She imagined an enormous bird bursting through that opening into her space and was struck by a feeling of awe and wonder she couldn’t shake.
